Carol Thompson, a beloved member of the Mobile, Alabama community, passed away peacefully in her residence on July 5, 2023. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends during her final moments. Carol's life was filled with love, joy, and a deep passion for adventure.
Born on June 19, 1946, in Mobile, Alabama, Carol embraced life with a contagious enthusiasm that touched the lives of those around her. Her warm personality and kind heart quickly endeared her to everyone she met. Carol had a natural ability to make people feel valued and loved.
One of Carol's greatest joys was embarking on exciting journeys to far-off destinations. She had a wanderlust spirit and traveled to breathtaking places like Paris, Ireland, and Greece. Carol cherished every moment spent experiencing new cultures and making lifelong memories along the way. Her travel tales were captivating and inspired others to explore the world with open minds and hearts.
Family was at the center of Carol's universe. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she adored every precious moment spent with them. Carol's love for her boys knew no bounds; she nurtured them with unwavering support and showered them with affection. Her grandchildren and children will forever carry the imprint of her love within their hearts.
In addition to her love for family, Carol also enjoyed dancing and celebrating life to its fullest. A true social butterfly, she lit up any room she entered with her infectious laughter and vibrant spirit. Dancing brought out her inner joy and allowed her to express herself freely. Whether it was twirling around the dance floor or celebrating at a lively party, Carol's presence always ensured a good time for everyone involved.
Carol's passion extended beyond dancing; she possessed an exceptional palate as a barbeque judge. With an expert eye for flavors and techniques, she relished participating in barbeque competitions throughout the years.
Carol is survived by her sons, Trey Thompson (Rene) and Brent Thompson (Jennifer); grandchildren, Parker, Brennon, and Tressa Thompson; sisters, Nadine Hurd and "Aunt" Kay Dahlstrom (Eddie); Shannon Hurd and Rhonda Curtis, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John Enzor and Ollie Wilbur; sister, Edna Kay; brothers, Johnny and Jessie Enzor.

On Sunday July 9, 2023, friends and family will gather to pay their respects and celebrate the life of Carol Thompson. Visitation will be held at the Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home located at 6040 Three Notch Rd, Mobile, Alabama, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Funeral Service will take place the following day on Monday July 10, 2023, also at the Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The service is scheduled to commence at 9:00 AM and conclude at 10:00 AM. It will be a time for reflection, filled with heartfelt memories shared by those whose lives were touched by Carol's kindness and beautiful spirit.
I’m so saddened to just learn today of Carol’s death. We worked together at WEAR for 25 years. I wish that I had known about this so that I could have attended the funeral. My heart goes out to her family.
