A mother, wife, and friend, Carrie Kaoui, tragically passed away on June 4, 2022, in a fatal car accident.
Carrie was born in Mobile, Alabama and graduated from Davidson High School in 1985. In 1994, she welcomed her first child, James Tyler Cunningham. Carrie was swept off her feet by her husband, Michael Rene' Kaoui, in 1999. The two were married in 2005 and welcomed their "Baby girl," Madison Brooke Kaoui, in 2007.
Fiercely loyal, Carrie loved her family with an intensity that is hard to find. She was the protector and defender of those she loved an assurance that will be missed forever. To know her was to have her in your corner. Her vivacious personality filled every room with sparkling energy, love, and light.
If Carrie could not be at the beach she was usually found at home, filling it with greenery and life, and tending to her numerous plants and garden. Always having boundless energy, she loved being active through working on her mind and body at the gym. Loving the thrill of the hunt, she filled her closet with amazing finds that were the envy of many and made her the fashion icon she was. She loved entertaining her family and friends in her home by cooking up something delicious for the Alabama or Saints game. She also loved just being by the pool, surrounded by a multitude of friends. Her passion for love and life was incomparable.
Carrie was predeceased by her father, Jerry Stephen Spooner and her mother, Nancy Daughdrill Anderson. She left behind her husband, Michael Rene' Kaoui; children: James Tyler Cunningham and Madison Brooke Kaoui; second mother, Kay Ott Spooner; sisters: Jarah Spooner Barlett, Jahaza Spooner Duncan, and Nikki Chmielewski; brother, Jeremiah Ott Spooner; daughter-in-law and love: Destiny Todd Cunningham, as well as countless other dear friends and family.
