CHARLES “Charlie” JEROME CRAWFORD, a native of Wynne, AR and longtime resident of Mobile, AL, died Friday, February 7, 2020 at the age of 68. He loved the water, fishing, boating and spending quality time with his grandchildren and family. Charlie worked for Hawaiian Tropics for 30 years and owned and operated Southern Bama. After he “retired” he worked as a yacht broker. One of his greatest accomplishments was traveling “The Great Loop” by boat. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Chuck Crawford and Euell Marie Johnson Crawford, and his brother-in-law, Jim Schook. His survivors include the love of his life, Mary Smith Melton; two sons, C. J. (Danielle) Crawford and Neil (Tracy) Crawford; one daughter, Donna (Jody) Williamson; three sisters, Deborah Crawford Soffes, Diane Crawford Schook and Nancy Crawford Hampton; six grandchildren, Brooks and Jackson Crawford, Peyton and Hannah Williamson and Morgan and Rowan Crawford; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Funeral services, officiated by Pastor Richard Mueller, will be held Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at 12:00 Noon from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
