Cheryl Alexander McDonald, 75, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2019. Cheryl was a native of Mobile and the eldest child of Marie and Henry Alexander.
She was always known to have spunk in her step and feisty playful personality that followed her throughout life. In her later years she was a fun and loving grandmother to her grandkids that brought pure joy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Hudson McDonald Sr.; her parents Marie and Henry Alexander.
Cheryl is survived by her 4 children Gwyn Tillman, Tony Cottrell (Loretta), Kent Cottrell, and Leigh Derbyshire (Chris); seven grandchildren Jared Tillman, Blake Tillman, Felecia Cottrell, Trent Tillman, Madison Derbyshire, Landon Derbyshire, and Blakely Cottrell; two siblings Ed Alexander and Monica Smith (David); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and other cherished family and friends.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Mobile, AL on Saturday, August 3, 2019, with a Mass of Christian Burial immediately following at 10 a.m. A graveside service will be held in Mobile Memorial Gardens on Three Notch Road in Mobile following the mass.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Comfort Care Hospice and Visiting Angels.
Pallbearers will include Jared Tillman, Blake Tillman, Trent Tillman, Dustin Smith, David Smith, and Landon Derbyshire.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Corpus Christi Catholic Church.

A church service will be held at 10am on Saturday, 08/03/2019 from Corpus Christi Catholic Church, followed by a committal service at the grave site.
