Claude Edward Collins, a resident of Mobile, AL, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at the age of 78. He served 4 years in the United States Air Force and retired from Scott Paper Co. after 35 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Dawes. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and was a mentor to many generations, all of whom he loved dearly. He was a pilot for over 50 years, and a master of the skies. For the last 20 years he was a pilot for Jet Services in Mobile, Alabama. He was preceded by his father, Otto Tobby Collins, Sr; mother, Delphine Morris; and stepmother, Johnnie Collins; three brothers, Otto Tobby Collins Jr, Benjamin Collins, Christopher Collins. His survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Carol Rester Collins of Mobile, AL; three daughters, Kim (Guy) Doss of Orange Beach, AL; Kelly (Tim) Jordan of Mobile, AL and Kristy Collins of Mobile, AL; five grandchildren, Chase Doss, Taylor Doss, Tye Jordan, Dayton Reed and Dalton Dees; two great-grandchildren, Calon Doss, Olivan Doss; other relatives and many friends. Pallbearers will be Mike Clark, Hal Rester, Alex Danford, David Rider, Michael Collins, & Robert Collins. Funeral services, officiated by Brother Chad Massey, will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Tuesday June 30, 2020 at 12:00 Noon. The family will receive friends Tuesday at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens. If attending, please comply with social distancing guidelines. Facial masks are highly recommended.
A chapel service will be held at 12pm on Tuesday, 06/30/2020 from Mobile Memorial Gardens, followed by a committal service at the grave site.
