On Thursday, June 27th, Clifton Arlien Martin, 42, passed away with family by his side. Clifton was deeply loved and will forever be remembered by his wife, daughters, parents, siblings, family and friends. Honoring his wishes, the gift of life was shared with five people in need through organ donation. Clifton is survived by his wife, Laura; daughters, Olivia, 6 and Emmaline, 3; parents, Dr. C. Allen Martin, Jr. and Virginia; siblings, C. Allen Martin, III, Lee Martin (Susan Martin) and twin sister, Kimberly Robson (Michael Robson); uncle, Willis C. Sherwood, III; aunt, Barbara Brown White; nieces and nephews, Leighton, Courteney, Madeline and Camden. Originally from Mobile, AL, Clifton packed up his Yukon and headed to the big city in 2005 to pursue his commercial real estate dreams. Clifton had a Master of Science in Real Estate and Investment from New York University as well as an MBA, Finance from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He did his undergraduate work at Birmingham-Southern College and had a Bachelor of Science in Business, double major in Finance and Management. Clifton was the Director of Acquisitions and Asset Management for Time Equities in New York. Clifton and Laura met in Manhattan in 2007, and raised their family there until recently moving to Kansas City. Whether it was ice climbing up 300 feet on a frozen waterfall, swimming in the Hudson during the NYC Triathlon, kayaking down class 5 rapids, rock climbing, skiing, golfing, boating, fishing or even just yardwork, Clifton loved being outdoors. Spending time on the water at Ono Island, AL was his favorite place in the world to be. A visitation in Kansas City will be held Monday, July 8th, at Signature Funerals, 406 Bannister Rd., Suite D, Kansas City, MO from 5-7 p.m. A visitation will then be held in Clifton's hometown Friday, July 12th, at Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin St., Mobile, AL, from 5-8 p.m. A private graveside service will be held in Mobile Memorial Gardens. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 13th, at Spring Hill Presbyterian Church located at 10 Westminster Way, Mobile, Alabama. A reception at the church will immediately follow the service. Hotel block is available at The Battle House Renaissance Mobile Hotel, 26 N Royal St., Mobile, AL under Martin Funeral.
