On Feb 27, 2024 Curtis Murray Pridgeon was called home to his ancestors at the age of 92.
Murray was preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters and 1 brother.
As a youngster, Murray and his family sustained themselves on the farm throughout the Great Depression. Murray graduated from J. U. Blacksher High School in Uriah, AL, where he served on the yearbook committee and the Mechanics Club.
Murray served in the Alabama Army National Guard and the Korean War with the 3rd Battalion, 35th Infantry Division, attached to the 25th Infantry Division “Tropic Lightning” from Hawai’i. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal with 1 bronze star and the United Nations Service Medal.
Murray was a devoted Catholic, a member of St. Pius X church and the Knights of Columbus.
Our husband and father embodied the virtues of hard work, humility, courage and forgiveness.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, March 2, 2024 in the Sarto Center at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
