Daisy Lee Ramsey, 87, died peacefully surrounded by her family on August 4, 2019 in Mobile, AL. Daisy was born August 11, 1931 in Evergreen, AL to John Hamilton Watson and Katie Lou Phillips Watson. Daisy enjoyed a long career of dipping ice cream and celebrating with her customers and their families as they came into Widemire's Old Dutch for over 25 years. She loved spending time with her family and friends; was an Alabama football fan and loved the beach. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Willie Jay Watson and sister, Mary Watson Lovett. Daisy is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 44 years, James Wiley Thomason, III; two children, Sheila (Tommy) Butts of Mobile, AL and Robin (Mary Jo) Ramsey of Semmes, AL; her grandchildren, Terri (Brian) Mason of Mobile, AL and Tom Butts of Mobile, AL; her great-grandchildren, Kaylee Nicoll, MaKayla Butts and Avery Nicoll; several nieces; nephews; cousins; extended family and friends. Funeral services, officiated by Rev. Wayne Cockrell, will be held Friday, August 9, 2019 at 12:00 Noon from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday morning from 10:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Daisy’s name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place #260, Memphis, TN 38105.
