David Glennon Franklin of Mobile, Alabama went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday January, 28th, 2023. He was a beloved husband, father and friend to many. David was born on November 4th, 1935 in Wing, Alabama to Lillie A. Franklin and Henry "Grady" Franklin.
David grew up in Bradley, Alabama and met and later married Betty Jean Graddy of Castleberry, Alabama on August 28, 1959. David and Betty were married for over 55 years. David was a dedicated member of Cypress Shores Baptist Church where he served for many years on various church committees and as a deacon. He was a long-standing member of the Mobile Gideons International and was proud to have distributed many bibles throughout the community. David loved his family, the Lord, his church family and his church. David also loved his country and proudly enlisted and served in the Army National Guard. Following his discharge from the Army, David began a lucrative career in the dental industry selling dental supplies. He eventually would go on to work for over 50 years in this same capacity as a salesman. He retired from the dental industry with Henry Schein Dental. David was preceded in death by his loving and beautiful wife Betty. He is survived by his two sons, Michael Dewayne Franklin ( Sandra "Sandy" H. Franklin) and David Mark Franklin (Gina D. Franklin), grandchildren, Christopher M. Franklin, Amanda M. Ledford (Cory Ledford) and great grandchildren Caden W. Franklin and Grayson Ledford and two grand dogs Duchess Franklin and Bo Franklin. David's brothers and sister also preceded him in death as follows: Vernon Franklin, Francis Dodgen, Dan Franklin, Gerald Franklin and Morris Franklin. Pall bearers will be Johnny Graddy, Tommy Gearen, Jason Franklin, Louis Anderson, Johnny Williams and Mike Story.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 2, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Mobile Memorial Gardens with the service to begin at 12:00 p.m.
