Dennie Joseph Lundy, 54, of Spanish Fort, Alabama, passed away peacefully during the early morning hours on Sunday, February 22, 2026. His wife of 62 years and favorite caretaker, an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fanatic, were by his side and not soon after, he was joined by his daughter, son in law, and additional care taker for his wife and friend of family. He was never alone. Surrounded by people who loved him dearly. Born on August 26, 1941, in Mobile, Alabama, Dennie lived a life marked by dedication and devotion to his family, friends, and country. Dennie pursued his education at Springhill College in Mobile, where he began cultivating the hardworking and resourceful nature that defined him throughout his life. A proud veteran of the United States Army, he served for 4 years and was stationed in Germany before being honorably discharged in February of 1963. His military service instilled in him a strong sense of discipline and patriotism that remained with him always. Known for his remarkable ability to fix almost anything-a skill he mastered long before the advent of internet tutorials-Dennie's intelligence and determination were evident in every challenge he faced. He approached every task with unwavering effort and perseverance, always putting the needs of others ahead of his own as he worked diligently to provide for his family. Dennie's adventurous spirit shone through in his many passions. He found joy in muscle cars, vintage motorcycles, drag racing, fishing, boating, and spending time near the beach or water. These hobbies reflected his zest for life and brought happiness not only to himself but also to those who shared these moments with him. Those who knew Dennie admired both his talents and the vibrant life he led. He is survived by his loving wife, Gail Ann Jones Lundy; his daughter Rebecca Gail Smith (Greg); and his sister Diane Rickles (Thomas). He also leaves behind two cherished nieces, Melissa Rogers (Stacey) and Mary Salmon (Cody). Dennie was predeceased by his parents, Joseph Terrell Lundy and Denise Miles Lundy. Dennie's legacy is one of hard work, love, and dedication. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend who always made it a priority to care for those around him. His memory will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Thursday, February 26, 2026 at 10 am. the family will receive friends from 9 am until service time Thursday at the funeral home. Committal at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery located at 6040 Three Notch Road in Mobile, Alabama.
