Diana Lynn Johnson

July 7, 1964 – March 21, 2025
Diana Lynn Jones Johnson, born July 7, 1964, in Mobile, AL, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on March 21, 2025. She was 60 years old. Diana was a cancer survivor but ultimately lost her valiant battle after being diagnosed with kidney cancer a second time in 2023. She maintained her positive spirit through two grueling years of treatment and testing at MD Anderson. Diana was the beloved daughter of Abner Clark Jones III and Joan Marie Jones. At just 18 years old, she married the love of her life, David Wayne Johnson, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love and devotion. Diana and David were married for 42 faithful years. She was a devoted mother to her son, Anthony Bryan Johnson, whom she lovingly called "Sweet Child of Mine." Her greatest joys in life were her family, especially her treasured grandchildren, Caroline and Gabriel. Diana adored her Pomeranian, Dexter, who never left her side. For nearly 30 years, Diana worked as an Office Administrator at Mobile Gastroenterology, where she played an instrumental role in managing and growing a highly successful practice. She had a deep love for the medical field and was admired for her dedication and leadership. Diana retired in 2024, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism, kindness, and excellence. Diana found her greatest peace spending her summers in Orange Beach with her sister. Their time together was filled with laughter, shopping for the next perfect designer purse, sunglasses, or pair of shoes. She was known for her sassy spirit—something all the Jones girls were famous for—balanced by a deeply nurturing and loving heart. She gave everything to her family, and her love knew no bounds. In Diana’s house, Saturdays in the Fall were meant for Alabama football, and no gameday was complete without brownies—but only the corner pieces. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street. Family-only visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a public visitation from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Diana will be laid to rest beside her mother at Mobile Memorial Gardens. Her legacy of love, strength, and joy will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. Diana is preceded in death by her father, Abner Clark Jones III, and her mother, Joan Marie Jones. She is survived in death by her husband, David Wayne Johnson; her son, Anthony Bryan Johnson; her daughter-in-law, Dalila Johnson; her two grandchildren, Caroline and Gabriel Johnson; and her two sisters, Debra Jones Pilot and Donna Jones Glaze. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude's or to the Saraland Soccer Academy to honor Diana's grandchildren.
