Diane McCarthy Houston, 67, born January 20, 1954, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2021, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Mobile, Alabama, and was a graduate of Theodore High School. She was known as a strong hard working independent woman. She owned and operated A/M Hot Shot Express, a trucking company with her son Sam, whom she admired most. She enjoyed the people she worked with and cared deeply for her family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her two grand-babies more than anything and loved to spoil them every chance she could. Her humor and quick-witted personality brought laughter to anyone around and she will be dearly missed by many. Diane was proceeded in death by her parents Ashley "Bo" and Charlotte McCarthy, her brother Art McCarthy and sister Susie Williams. She is survived by her son Sam, daughter-in-law Carolyn Houston, her two grandchildren Annalynn (her best buddy) and Sam Jr. (Sambo); brother, Ashley (Linda) McCarthy; sisters, Retta McCarthy and Peggy (John) Harrison; her long-time best friend Wanda Hannon along with many other nieces, cousins, and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church on Thursday, July 15, 2021, at 11:00 AM with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM.
