Doris Dove

June 30, 1933 — March 16, 2024
DORIS WILLIAMS DOVE Doris Williams Dove, 90, of Wilmer, formerly of Semmes, peacefully passed away at her home on March 16, 2024. She was born in Many Louisiana, June 30, 1933 and moved to Chickasaw Alabama in 1941. She attended the first classes at Vigor and graduated from Murphy High in 1951. While living in Chickasaw, she met her future husband, Tommy Dove; they attended junior high and high school together and after graduation, they were married as Tommy was heading off to the Army. They were together until he passed on January 9, 2014. She is survived by 2 sons, Ricky and Larry (Jana), 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, and her brother, Clayton Williams of Wilmer. A stay-at-home mom, she enjoyed her flowers, watching her birds and traveling. Along with Tommy, she had the opportunity to travel around much of the United States in their motor home with excursions into Mexico and Canada. Additionally, they made numerous trips to Hawaii where Larry was stationed in the Navy. They also were able to travel to the middle of the Pacific to the tropical island of Guam, also where Larry was stationed. Their longest trip though was to Japan when Jana took a job there. After Tommy died, she made one last trip to Hawaii for Christmas with Larry and Jana but after that, she was physically unable to make such a long trip. Her last couple of years, she enjoyed sitting in her swing on the front porch, with her dogs, first Goldie and then Cricket where she would look at her flowers and watch the birds and other wildlife that was around her home.
