Doris Marie Chadwell (Hester), age 91, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2024. Doris was born in Mobile, AL on December 4, 1932 to the late William Lloyd Hester and Lula Dee Hester (Benton). Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Bobby Chadwell. Her sisters, Frances Marshall and Edna Powell; her brothers, Bill Hester, Jack Hester, her twin brother, Doyle Hester, and Joe Hester. She married Robert Eugene Chadwell on December 22,1951 and was married 71 years before his passing on April 12, 2023. She was a loving wife, Mother, Nana and Great Nana. She was a true friend to all that knew her. Doris was a faithful member of Springhill Baptist Church. She loved her charity work with Home of Grace and Samaritan’s Purse.
Doris is survived by her four children, Debra Parker (Mason), Teresa Estes (Mike), Steve Chadwell (Tracy), Michael Chadwell (Rebecca); she is also survived by seventeen grandchildren and thirty great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home-Mobile (Dauphin Street),on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 from 9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m. Funeral services will be held in the Oakleigh Chapel of the funeral home beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jay Oberkirch, Bryar Oberkirch, Benton Oberkirch, Trevor Chadwell, Josh Chadwell and Tim Parker. Honorary pallbearer will be Jim Little. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Home of Grace.
