Dorothy June Coley (nee Smith), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2024 at age 84. She was a pillar of strength, grace, and kindness to all who knew her.
Throughout her life, Dorothy touched the hearts of many with her unwavering love and generosity. Her door was always open and her kitchen table was always full. Her legacy of compassion and wisdom will continue to live on through the lives she has touched.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James R. Coley, Sr., and her sons, James R. Coley, Jr. (Doreen Coley), and Michael W. Coley. Although they have gone before her, their memories will forever remain in her heart.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Shannon C. Coley and brother Winford Smith. She also leaves behind her cherished granddaughters Destiny Coley Latham, Amberly Coley Odom (Landon Odom), and Shanna Lynn Coley.
In addition, Dorothy is survived by her great-grandchildren Bryson and Trinity Latham, and Madison, Annalise, and Olivia Odom as well as countless nieces and nephews.
Dorothy's memory will forever be treasured and brings comfort to her loved ones knowing her soul rests in heaven with her Savior. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
A celebration of Dorothy's life will be held on September 14, 2024 at Radney Funeral Home in Saraland, AL at 1 p.m. and immediately proceeding to Mobile Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 12 p.m. prior to services.
May she rest in peace, knowing that she was loved and will be remembered with fondness and gratitude by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
