Dorothy Nell Kent, born on February 1, 1937, a native of Starkville, Mississippi and lifetime resident of Mobile, Alabama died on Monday, March 10, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, J.W. Kent; her parents, C.O. and Ida Richardson; brother, Buddy Richardson; sister, Florence Hatfield; nephew, Anthony Richardson; great granddaughter, Haley Dingman; great grandson, Gabe Skipper; great-great grandson, Brody Lee Matthew and son-in-law, James Cramer.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Rickie (Marie) Kent of Mobile, Alabama, Virginia "Jeannie" Kent Cramer of Mobile, Alabama and Pamela Kent (Jeffrey) Knight of Loxley, Alabama; brothers, Connor "Junior" Richardson of Mobile, Alabama, Mike (Lois) Richardson of Mobile, Alabama and sister, Dewanna (Andy) Howle of Theodore, Alabama; 9 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 14 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The pallbearers will be Rickie Kent, Virginia "Jeannie" Cramer, Pam Knight, Wes Kent, Shane Kent and Dakota Kent. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Knight, Mike Richardson and Andy Howle.
The family would like to extend a special "thank you" to the staff of Alabama Hospice Care, especially her nurse, Leila for the kindness and care given to Mrs. Kent.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 pm from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, March 14, 2025. The Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the 12:00 pm Funeral Service. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
