Dorothy Thames Neil, affectionately know as Granny, passed away February 9th, 2024, at the age of 91 in her home in Mobile, Alabama. Dorothy was born December 21st, 1932, in Gallman, Mississippi to the late Lewis and Dell Thames. She was one of four children, those being Louis Curtis, Janet Bell, and Caroline Orrick. Dorothy Neil married the late Robert Neil Sr. and had five children: Robert Neil Jr., Sherry Lynn Neil, Ronald Reed Neil, Connie Jean Neil, and Kevin Neil Sr. Her children blessed her with 11 beautiful grandchildren: Kevin Neil Jr., Alexandria Neil, Isabella Neil, MiaClaire Neil, Brandon Faulkner, Ashley Faulkner, Thomas Findley, Kylee Washburne, Tara Byrd, Kristina, Neil, and the late Edward Neil. Dorothy also leaves behind many great-grandchildren.The family would like to express their immense gratitude towards the people who took care of her in her final years (Marguerite Moss, Charles Moss, and all the Gentiva Hospice Care workers).

Her funeral service will be held Friday, February 16th, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Mobile Memorial Gardens. She will be laid to rest next to her late husband. raveside services and interment will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024 at 12 Noon in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 11am until service time at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.

Dottie was a great mother-in-law and a good friend. She will be sadly missed.
