Mr. Douglas F. Godwin Sr. born on February 16th 1951 to Gene, and Adele Godwin passed from this life to his heavenly home on August 19th 2021. He resided in Semmes, Alabama. The road that he travelled was far from easy. He placed himself firmly behind his savior, and followed him until he drew his last breath. Douglas was gentle, kind, and quiet. He was a Prophet of the Most High God. People were drawn to him. Even though he dealt with many medical issues he always pulled others close. Douglas is survived by his loyal wife of 53 years Deborah "Debbie" Bowden Godwin. His oldest son Douglas F. Godwin Jr. and family including his wife Tina Godwin, granddaughter Heather Massey, her husband Trey, granddaughters Penny Godwin, and Sarah Godwin, and Jamie. His youngest son Donovan Godwin Sr. and family including his wife Alicia Godwin, grandsons Donovan Godwin Jr., and Garrett Godwin, granddaughters Abby Grace Godwin "Gracie", Lillie-Claire Godwin, and Jhustas Godwin. Gracie along with a whole host of other relatives are waiting to greet him in Heaven.Thank you from The Godwin Family

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 26, 202, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
