Edward Lamar Kerr, Jr., beloved brother and uncle, passed away at a local hospital on January 13th 2024, after a lengthy illness. Ed was born in Mobile, AL, a resident of Daphne, AL for over 30 years and a resident of Fairhope, AL for the past 2 years. He was a student at Murphy High School, graduated from University Military School, and was a member of Phi Kappa Fraternity. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Commerce and Business Administration at the University of Alabama, where he was a member of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity and the United States Naval Reserve. He worked at First Federal Savings and Loan; Edge Appraisal Services, Inc.; and David Volkert and Associates.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Lamar Kerr, Sr., and Jettie Mae Kerr.
He is survived by his sister, Lynn Singleton (Clyde); brother, Gary W. Kerr; his niece, Shelley Trawick (Marcus); nephews, Brian Singleton, Scott Singleton (Susie), and Shawn Kerr; great nephews, Jackson and Nathan Singleton and Matthew Trawick; great niece, Natalie Trawick; and many cousins.
The family would like to extend its deepest gratitude to all staff at CenterWell Home Health of Daphne, Mobile Infirmary, and Ashland Place Health and Rehabilitation; his physicians, Dr. Jason Harrison and Dr. Patrick Murphy, as well as the hospitalist, Dr. Jerry Banks; and the staff and his many friends at Homestead Village of Fairhope, AL.
