Edwin Harris Green, Jr, 92 of Mobile, AL, was born August 30, 1930 in Nashville, TN to Edwin Harris and Catherine Green. He passed away on Saturday July 22, 2023 at his home.
Edwin attended schools in Huntsville, AL and high school and Howard College in Birmingham. While attending high school in Birmingham, he earned the rank of 1 Lieutenant in the ROTC program. After high school, he joined the army as a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne Division on the day the Korean War began. Edwin served for three years attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant and Jump Master. While attending college, he received an Air Force commission and earned his Air Force Wings. Later, he transferred to the Army Aviation as a pilot. He earned the rank of Captain and was discharged in 1964. In 1954, he married Patricia Stewart and their journey lasted for 57 years, ending in her death in 2011. Edwin worked as a salesman in the piping and fitting industry, eventually being promoted to management. Edwin was a terrific dad and grandpa who loved spending time with his family.
Edwin is survived by his children, Cindy Schartel (Ken), Mindy Currie (Chris), Ed Green (Dale), and Patty Miller (Rob); grandchildren, April Schweigert (Zach), Clay Currie (Megan), Kenny Schartel (Sara), Kyle Green (Whitney), Madeline Eaton (Rob), and Reed Strength (Stephanie); great-grandchildren, Evan Green, Anders Green, Grace Green, Isabella Eaton, Lukas Currie, Chloe Currie, Neil Currie, Owen Currie, Cash Schweigert, Stone Schweigert, and Emery Schweigert; his beloved dog, Molly and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia Green; grandchildren, Toddy Currie and Kevin Schartel; siblings, Reba Green, Nancy Varble, Beverly Gunn, and George Green.

To honor his memory, his family will receive friends on Friday August 4, 2023, at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm following the visitation. Interment in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery will immediately follow the funeral service.
