On Thursday, July 1st, 2021 Florine Snodgrass (Lassiter) longtime resident of Escatawpa gained her Heavenly wings with her family by her bedside at Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula. She was 95. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and beloved friend to many. Florine was born October 17th, 1925 in Bay Springs, MS to John and Maude Early. She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Emmitt Snodgrass, and by her husband, John Lassiter. In addition, she was preceded in death by her youngest son Gordon Keith Snodgrass and by her great-granddaughter Lendsey Gail Nicholson. She is survived by her daughter, Gail Nicholson Miller (Kenny) of Moss Point son, William Rice (Kay) of Gautier daughter, Debbie Rogers (Jerry) of Fairhope, AL daughter, Melissa Frey (Bill) Los Angeles, CA daughter, Sharon (Jack) Bradley of Pascagoula; 2 sisters, Laverne Thomas of Mobile, and Mary Evelyn Martin of Daphne, AL, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition, she is survived by 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Florine loved being a homemaker and took particular joy in organizing and hosting family gatherings. She had an unwavering faith in God and was a long-time member of the Escatawpa Baptist Church where she was a member of the Benevolent Committee. She taught Sunday School and also Bible School. She also liked to visit other churches in and around the community. She took a great deal of pride in her flower gardens. She loved knitting, crocheting, and quilting, especially quilts for the “grands”. She especially enjoyed participating in the local Senior Citizens activities with her friend, Larry Zimmerman. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 3, 2021 starting at 10 AM at Holder Wells Funeral Home with the service to start at 12 PM in the Chapel with Bro. Wendell Stork officiating. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at 10 AM, at Mobile Memorial Gardens in Mobile (Tillman's Corner). Special thanks to the hospital staff of Singing River Hospital for the excellent and compassionate care of our mother during her last days. Garden: G Lot: 273 Space: aa2
