Freddie Joseph Marceaux was born in Gueydan, LA on 11/7/1938. He played football in his freshman year under Paul "Bear" Bryant at University of Alabama. He finished his education at Louisiana College and went on to coach football at Blackshear High School in Blackshear, GA. He then pursued a career in financial services in 1977 and became one of the original founders of AL Williams which is now Primerica. He was preceded in death by father Clodis Marceaux, mother Marie Marceaux and older sibling Ida Marie Marceaux. Survived by wife Bonnie Marceaux and children: Cherie Marceaux, Brigit Marceaux, Phuc Marceaux, Khanh Marceaux, Rose Pollard, Eden Marceaux and Teresa Marceaux and grandchildren: Damon Marceaux, Marley Marceaux, Joshua Marceaux, Zeph Marceaux, Justin Marceaux and Carol Marceaux. His big heart and diverse family included being daddy and paw paw to so many other kids he and Bonnie help raise that it would be too time consuming to name them all but they know who they are.
November 7, 1938 ~ January 17, 2022 (age 83)
Services will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home; 6040 Three Notch Rd. Mobile, AL 36619, on Saturday, January 22, 2022 with visitation from 1:00pm until 2:00pm service time. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
