Frederick Lancaster - Mobile Memorial Gardens

Frederick Lancaster

1927-2019

Fredrick Wayne Lancaster: born July 6, 1927 in Georgiana, Alabama to Marion and Eva Lancaster. Fred leaves behind one son, Wayne (Kim) and 2 grandchildren, Morgan and Avery Lancaster. Last Wednesday Fred, after 91 years on this earth, departed for his new home where his wife and family are waiting for him. Fred grew up on his parents’ farm in Butler County and attended Greenville High School. Fred would meet his future wife, Irene Logins (deceased) at the local hat factory in Greenville, marrying in 1958. Moving to Mobile at about this same time, he worked at the port and soon joined the Longshoreman’s Union where he worked as a clerk/bookman until his retirement in 1989. Fred and Irene traveled often and had a large extended family they enjoyed visiting. Fred and Irene were active in their local church, Shiloh Baptist Church in Saraland, where they lived from 1975 until recently. Fred received his 60 year pin from the Masons just a few years ago. He had a sharp wit, and being a child of the Great Depression, knew how to deal with setbacks and life’s challenges better than most. Much loved, he will be missed.
