Freeman Eugene Jockisch - Age 80; a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama died Wednesday, August 13, 2025 in Mobile, Alabama. He is survived by his children, Freeman Jockisch, Jr., Charles "Chuck" Jockisch, and Jerry Jockisch; his grandchildren, Jessica Gruwell, Jeremy Jockisch, Samantha Jockisch, Braxton Jockisch, Landon Jockisch, Annabelle Jockisch, Kollin Jockisch, and Karlynn Jockisch; two siblings, Bill Jockisch and Evelyn Pounds; nieces, nephews and other relatives. Freeman dedicated much of his life to public service. He was proud to serve as a Mobile County Commissioner from 1993 - 2004 where he worked to support growth and improvements for the community and the place he cared about. Freeman enjoyed spending time outdoors, and he especially loved fishing where he found his greatest peace being on the water.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at Ascension Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday from the chapel of Ascension Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Ascension Funeral Home, 1016 Hillcrest Road, Mobile, Alabama 36695.
