Gary Lamar Young, Sr., 63, returned to his heavenly home on Sunday, June 9, 2019. He passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones in the comfort of his home. Gary was a native and lifelong resident of Mobile County, AL and retired from Kimberly-Clark in 2016 after forty years of employment. He was devoted to his family, enjoyed the outdoors and loved his dogs. Gary was a loving and caring husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. Gary and all the varied rolls he filled in the lives and hearts of his family and friends will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his father, Colvin Young. He is survived by his beloved wife of 19 years, Maria Hill Young; son, Gary Lamar Young, Jr. and daughter, Julia Ashley Young; mother, Ethel Bodiford Young Metzger (Bill); sisters, Glenda Young Johnson (Wayne), Sheila Young Greene and Susan Young Sheffield (Tommy); the mother of his children, Dimple Harrelson Young; stepchildren, Christine Wilson, Curtiss Wilson, Michelle Allen and Edward Hill (Lorna); granddaughters, Masyn and Maddix; grandchildren, Tristan, Mya and Elliot; nieces, nephews; other extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 14, 2019 at 12:00 Noon from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time.

A chapel service will be held at 12pm on Friday, 06/14/2019 from Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, followed by a committal service at the grave site.
