Gladys Elliott Lowe Culpepper, a resident of Saraland, AL died peacefully at home on February 8, 2022 in the presence of loved ones. She was born on January 4, 1932 in Atmore, AL moving to the Mobile area at a young age. A graduate of Murphy High School, she was employed at S. H Kress & Co.; International Paper Co.; retiring from Sears (Bel Air Mall) after many years of service. She was a member of the Bayou Sara Baptist Church; Eloise Clark's Sunday School Class; the Eastern Star; and formerly the Guys and Dolls Square Dance Group; the Good Time Travelers (a RV travel group); and Southern Red Belles (Red Hat Society). She is preceded in death by her mother, Ella Elliott Meitzler; father, Greeley H. Elliott; beloved son, Terry Alan Lowe, Sr.; first husband, Uyless F. Lowe, Jr.; and second husband, Jerry Culpepper. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Lowe Dixon (Dickie); granddaughter, Tiffany Dixon Brandon (Justin); two grandsons, Scott Alan Dixon and Terry Alan Lowe, Jr. (Heather); seven great-grandchildren, Grayson and Wells Brandon; Terriann, Jordan, Bryant, Shawn and Crimson Lowe; a sister, Evelyn Hathcock, a brother, James E. Elliott (Nancy); a niece, Kara Elliott Boutwell (Denton); and a nephew, James Richard Sutton. Gladys was the epitome of a gracious Southern Christian lady, who loved everyone and was loved by everyone in return. She will be truly missed by her family and her many, many friends.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Mobile Memorial Gardens.
