Gloria Herndon Deming born March 2, 1927, passed peacefully at home with her loving family beside her on January 20, 2022. Gloria loved her family, and she had a personal relationship with her Lord and Savior, who she loved and spent her mornings with. She was heard talking to Him daily.
Gloria is preceded in death by her husband Frank C. Deming of 50 years and her parents Willis and Rose Herndon. She is survived by her son Herndon C. Deming and her two grandchildren, Frank C. Deming II and Brittany L. Deming, all of Mobile. She is also survived by her loving niece, Libby and Tommy Walker of Saraland, who provided excellent care for her during her last moments, and her great nieces, Emily Walker of Saraland, and Catherine (Travis, Jr.) Brinkley of Mobile. Lastly, she is survived by her nephew Chris Herndon of Gulf Shores. Gloria had three cherished, lifelong friends, Frances Arata, Rosemond Boykin, and Ann Meredith, who she loved deeply. She would also want to thank her loving, private nurse, Ms. Eleanor Taylor for all the excellent care and companionship.
Gloria was a long-time member of Cottage Hill Baptist Church, where she volunteered on a weekly basis in the prayer and counting room. She retired from Regions Bank, previously known as Merchants Bank, where she worked as a bank teller from the age of 18 until her retirement.
Gloria loved to travel, shop, and spend time with her family and friends. She was always the center of fun whether when she was telling jokes, dancing or just being her natural, witty self. She always knew how to make those around her smile. Gloria enjoyed her retirement years traveling with her friends or volunteering wherever she could; she mostly volunteered at Cottage Hill Baptist church, Fort Conde, Joe Jefferson and the Saenger. She will be loved and missed forever, but she will live on in all of our hearts.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home on Dauphin Street. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, followed by a graveside service at Mobile Memorial Gardens. The men serving as pallbearers are Herndon Deming, Frank Deming, II, Tommy Walker, Chris Herndon, Travis Brinkley,Jr. and Patrick Pledger.
