November 10, 1960 – February 26, 2017 Native Mobilian, Harvey Rezo Brooks, died Sunday, February 26th after a hard fought battle with lung cancer. He was born on November 10, 1960 to Jean and William S. Brooks, Sr. in Birmingham, AL. He moved to Mobile with his family at age 4 where he later attended Davidson High School and IMS School. He was named for both of his grandfathers, could fix anything, and would do anything to help those that he cared about. His love of the water, mechanical ability, and management skills led to a career as a tug boat captain and later a local business owner. He lived between Mobile, AL and Plash Island, Gulf Shores for most of his life. He is survived by his wife Donna Odom-Brooks of Mobile, AL; Children; Jeannie Davis (Richard) of Mobile, AL; Daniel Brooks of Waterbury, CT; mother, Jean Brooks of Mobile, Al; siblings; William (Bill) S. Brooks, Jr. of Mobile, Al; Sheila Ishee of Mobile, AL Melinda Freeman (Warren) of Anniston, AL; Grandchildren, Jackson Davis and Elizabeth Davis of Mobile, AL; like a daughter, Maryann Davis (Jason and Grady) of Mobile, AL and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to say thank you to Covenant Hospice.
