Helen Marie McMenamin, 80, of Mobile, Alabama, passed away on January 21, 2024. She was born on May 21, 1943, in Buffalo, New York, to the late John and Helen Foran. Helen was a dedicated wife, mother, and nurse. She spent over 50 years in the nursing profession, working at prestigious institutions such as Georgetown and Johns Hopkins. Her commitment to excellence was recognized when she received the Award for Clinical Excellence from Niagara University at her 50th class reunion. In her personal life, Helen found joy in her hobbies, which included gardening, knitting, baking, needlepoint, decorating, and solving crosswords. She had a deep appreciation for nature and saw God in the beauty of the world around her. Helen is survived by her loving husband, John McMenamin, and their children Maureen McMenamin, Kathy McMenamin, Amy Kean, Shannon McMenamin, and Barry McMenamin and grandchildren, Kate Overman, Mike Overman, Fiona Kean, and Sophia McMenamin. She was preceded in death by her son Terence McMenamin. She will be remembered for her kind heart, nurturing spirit, and unwavering dedication to her family and profession. Helen's positive impact on the lives she touched will be cherished by all who knew her.
