Hershel Gary McInnis, a lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, October 28, at M.D. Anderson in Houston, Texas, at the age of 71.
Gary joined the United States Air Force at the age of 18 and served in the Vietnam War. Gary’s first love was his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He would witness and share his salvation to anyone, anywhere, anytime. He loved his wife of 52 years Sheila McInnis who he referred to lovingly as “Mama.”
He is preceded in death by his father, Van Owen McInnis; mother, Annie Louise McInnis; brother, Van Owen McInnis Jr.; and sisters, Gloria McInnis Walley and Phyllis McInnis Trimble.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila Walker McInnis; son, Gary Van McInnis (Jennifer McInnis); granddaughters, Mackenzie and Kaleigh McInnis; sister, Carol McInnis Tindle; brother, Raymond Earl McInnis (Carolyn McInnis); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 5th, 2020, from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Cottage Hill Baptist Church followed by funeral services at 12:00pm. Interment will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

A church service will be held at 10am on Thursday, 11/5/2020 from Cottage Hill Baptist Church, followed by a committal service at the grave site.
