Hilton Lee Peyregne, born November 6, 1921, passed away Monday, July 8, 2019, at the age of 97. He was born and raised in Bayou La Batre, Alabama. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, served on several ships, the last one being the USS Boxer. He retired from International Paper Co. after 38 years. He was a long-time member of First Baptist Church Tillman’s Corner. He was an avid Alabama football fan, Atlanta Braves Baseball fan, and hobbies included fishing, shrimping, and oystering.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Eva Mae Peyregne; son, Donald Peyregne; daughter, Wanda Hicks; his parents, Willie and Ella Peyregne; siblings, Ruth, Mildred, Herman, Lavern and Willie Mae.
He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Logan and son-in-law Rusty Logan; his only living sibling, June Brandt; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, friends and our angel-his caretaker, Theresa Davis.
The family would like to express their appreciation to his additional caregivers Mercedes, Tammy, Gloria, and Ruth.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 11, 2019, from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with services at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel. Interment will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
