His legacy is one of love, dedication, and a deep connection to family and the natural world.
Huey Kirk earned a bachelor’s degree in business accounting from Spring Hill College and embarked on a successful career at Colonial Sugars where he was an integral part of the company’s success as Vice President of Logistics. After retiring from Colonial Sugars in 1999, he realized his dream of starting his own company, Coastal Ventures, which he owned and operated for 20 years. His dedication to his work was unparalleled, matched only by his love and devotion to his family.
Huey Kirk was predeceased by his beloved wife, Sarah Alexander Kirk, in 1991. Huey dedicated his life to caring for Sarah, who courageously faced the challenges of multiple sclerosis. His unwavering love and steadfast support were a testament to the depth of their bond. Huey was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. He and Sarah were lifelong members of Springhill Baptist Church, where their faith and fellowship enriched their lives and those of their church family.
Huey Kirk is survived by his two cherished children, Diana Kirk Hashimi, and Shan Lee Kirk. Diana, a respected physician in Mobile, Alabama, is happily married to Wail Hashimi. Their family is blessed with two wonderful children, Sarah Amal Hashimi and Hannah Rose Hashimi. Their family thrived with the addition of three children, Ross Lenahan Kirk, Reed Harrison Kirk, and Caroline Ann Kirk. Huey's love for his family knew no bounds.
An avid sportsman, Huey was most at home in the great outdoors. He was a passionate hunter and found solace and joy at his beloved hunting camp in Leakesville, Mississippi. Huey was deeply involved in conservation efforts in Mississippi, particularly timber reclamation. His commitment to preserving the natural beauty he cherished reflected his caring nature and sense of responsibility for future generations.

I’m so sorry to hear this news about Huey. I’ve known him since I was a child, living next door to he & Sarah. My parents were good friends with both of them & they were great neighbors. Diana you & Shan have my deepest sympathy.
