Jack Dowling Sands, 88, of Mobile, AL, passed away September 18, 2023.
Jack was a native of Mobile, AL, graduating from Murphy High School Class of 1952. In 1957, Jack enlisted in the United States Army where he flew several missions in Korea as a communications specialist. After Korea, he served in the United States Air Force Reserves until 1963. Jack spent many years working for United Airlines, living and working in Atlanta for several years.
After moving back to Mobile, Jack found his entrepreneurial spirit, starting several companies throughout his life. Jack found success in the medical equipment business before retiring to care for his wife, Sue, and raise Chihuahuas and cats while enjoying time with his family.
Jack is survived by his children, Jacquelyn "Mickey" Sands (Charles), Robert Sands (Melinda), Beverly Cleverdon (John), Joseph Dennis, Robbin Dennis, Deanna Anlage (Derek), Jacque Woodin; granddaughter, Kimberly Dennis along with 11 other grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Oneita Sue Sands.

Jack's family will celebrate his life by holding a funeral service for Jack on Wednesday September 27, 2023, at 10:00 am from the graveside at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
