Jake "Jay" Moore Wamble Jr., 75, of Mobile, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at a local hospital surrounded by his family. Jay was born October 21, 1946, in Montgomery, Alabama, to Jake and Katherine Wamble. He was a long-time resident of Mobile and a retired Engineer of 38 years at L&N-CSX Transportation. He was passionate about his family and Alabama football ("Roll Tide, Poppy!"). He will be in the hearts of his family and missed dearly every day.
Jay is survived by his loving wife, Linda Wamble, of 53 years; his children, Todd (Sandra) Wamble of Mobile and Tiffany (Shane) Lynes of Pascagoula; grandchildren, Landon Wamble of Mobile, Lindsey (Brad) Harris of Charlotte and Kayla (Trey) Andrews of Mobile; siblings, Larry (Myra) Wamble of Andalusia and Donna (Mike) Sheffield of Mobile. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and two brothers.
