James "Jay" Walton Barnett Jr., 66, left this life peacefully at his home on Saturday, July 11, 2020. Jay was preceded in death by his parents, James and Adelaide Barnett. He is survived by his lifelong friend, Kevin Ryan; friend, Bruce Pugh; daughter, Kristina Barnett (Brian Buck); granddaughter, Sarah Bell (Brandon); brothers, Jerry W Barnett (Linda), Michael J Barnett (Rosalie) and other relatives.
Jay retired from Mobile Infirmary after 25 years of service. As an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, Jay loved cheering for them on game day. Some of his favorite pastimes were sitting on the dock at the bay, listening to rock and roll 70's music, watching movies and enjoying his afternoon White Russians.
Active pallbearers will be Kevin Ryan, Bruce Pugh, Michael Kraljevic, Michael Chapman, Bobby Roberts and Brian Buck; honorary pallbearer, Jimmy English. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mr. Barnett's name to the Spinal Cord Society, 19051 County Highway 1, Fergus Falls, MN 56537, (218) 739-5252.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, July 17, 2020 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

A chapel service will be held at 2pm on Friday, 07/17/2020 from Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, followed by a committal service at the grave site.
