Mr. James Boyd “Jimmy” Harris, a resident of Eclectic, Alabama, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2024, at the age of 76. He was born in Snowden, Alabama, February 13, 1948, to Harold Monroe Harris and Lillian Haden Harris.
Mr. Harris is survived by his wife of 46 years, Catherine Lyons Harris, (Hattie); daughter, Mary Haden Harris of Houston, TX; son, Joseph Boyd Harris (Taliese) of Lake Martin, AL; two granddaughters, Charlotte Haden Harris and Catherine Grace Harris; sister, Haden Harris Pickel (James R.) of Nashville, TN; sister-in-law, Claudia Harris of Clemson, SC; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Lillian Harris and his brother, Dr. Harold Harris.
Mr. Harris was a graduate of Sydney Lanier High School and Auburn University. He was a veteran of twenty-four years and retired from the United States Army as Lieutenant Colonel. He had also retired as Chief of Multi-Family Housing at Rural Housing and Development with USDA. Mr. Harris was a wonderful husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather.

The family will receive friends Thursday, June 27, 2024, from 10:00AM until service time at 11:00AM at Jeffcoat Funeral Home Chapel in Tallassee, Alabama. A visitation will be held Friday, June 28, 2024, at 10:00AM in the Murphy Center at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 4156 Burma Road, Mobile, Alabama. Mass will be held immediately following in the church at 11:00AM. Burial will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens cemetery.
