Mr. Buddy Jones passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2020. Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements. He was born in Meridian, Mississippi on July 5, 1946, to James and Louise Jones. Buddy served in the United States Army Reserve for 6 years. After boot camp, he returned to work at Grady Buick, where he would meet his future wife. Buddy also ran an Amoco Service Station for many years. He leaves to cherish in his memory his loving wife of 49 years, Nancy (McNeil), his three sons, David (Mandie), James Bradley (Missy), and Michael (Jennifer). He leaves a legacy of 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandsons, one devoted sister-in-law, Pam McNeil, two sisters, Judy Gossman of San Antonio, Texas, and Ann Boykin (Sam) of Dayton, Ohio, and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, James W. Jones, Sr. and Louise Jones de'Ovies. Buddy was an active member of many antique car clubs, was a Drag racer for many years, and loved Nascar. He enjoyed the many friends he made through his business, Buddy's Automotive. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at 12:00 p.m. with visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers are Freddie Pendarvis, Pat Copeland, and Jimmy Baehr. Active pallbearers are his grandson, Hunter and Matthew, and BJ Jones, Paul Edmondson, Phillip Calhoun, and Larry Alston. There will be an antique car parade in his honor from the funeral home to the gravesite.

A chapel service will be held at 12pm on Tuesday, 12/30/20 at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home followed by a committal service at the grave site.
