A chapel service for James Quint will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, 01/15/2015 from St. Luke’s Episcopal Church followed by a committal service at the grave site.
Dec. 3, 1925 – Jan. 13, 2015 Jim Quint, born in Biloxi, MS and long-time resident of Mobile, AL, died peacefully while surrounded by family at Springhill Memorial Hospital. He was a WWII veteran who served as a Marine on Iwo Jima and a long-time Scoutmaster for Troop 143 at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church with more than 50 Eagle Scouts. After over 30 years of employment by Merck & Co., he spent his retirement campground hosting, wood carving, playing fiddle and dulcimer, and building and flying radio control model airplanes. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Annette; children Jimmy (Terri), Mike (Denise), Mitzi, Laurie (Ken), Pat (Angela), Terry (Jan), and Tod (Laura); grandchildren; great grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families; all of whom adored him. His mischievous sense of humor will always be remembered by his family and many friends. Visitation begins at 9 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 16, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 1050 Azalea Rd. followed by the service at 11. Interment will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Salvation Army.
