Jana Greene - Mobile Memorial Gardens

Jana J. Greene of Northport, Alabama, passed away peacefully in hospice care on December 17, 2024, at the age of 76. Jana was born in San Antonio, Texas, to John James Greene, Jr., and Mary Evelyn (McIntyre) Greene. She graduated from Denham Springs High School in Denham Springs, Louisiana, in 1967, after which she began a career as a flight attendant with Eastern Airlines. After many years as a flight attendant, she followed various career paths which gave her the opportunity to live in numerous cities around the country. In Jana's later years, she found it very fulfilling to be a house mother at Zeta Tau Alpha sorority at the University of Virginia and Delta Delta Delta sorority at the University of Texas. She truly loved being with young people and sharing experiences with them. Her last position as house mother was with Alpha Phi sorority at the University of Alabama. She left there with some sadness but precious memories. Jana never met a stranger and made lasting friendships around the country. Jana was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her brother, John Greene (Julie); nephew, Evan Greene; niece, Virginia Greene Boland (Westin), all of Texas. Also surviving Jana are Jeanette Greene and Jane McIntyre Nichols (Ben), of Alabama, as well as several cousins and scores of sorority daughters.
