Janice Johnson Schreiner, age 77, went to be with the Lord on June 24, 2020 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents Crockett and Loretta Johnson of Philadelphia, Miss. and her sister Cora Frances Brooks of Lucedale, Miss. She will be sadly missed by her husband Clark; son Todd Schreiner (Tonya) of Mobile, daughter Robin Gurganus (Phillip) of Northport, AL; and grandchildren Taylor Gurganus, Hannah Gurganus, Chloe Lyle and Mayce Lyle. She is also survived by her brother Loyd Johnson (Anna) of Charleston, SC along with a nephew, nieces and other relatives. Janice was born on March 16, 1943 in Philadelphia, Miss. She graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in Early Childhood Education. She taught second grade at East Central Elementary School in Mississippi. Janice was united in marriage to Clark Schreiner on June 17, 1967. They were happily married for 53 wonderful years. Janice and Clark moved to Mobile in 1968 and raised two children. Janice was an active member at First Baptist Church in Tillman’s Corner. She taught Sunday school in the children’s department for many years along with Sunday night training union and during this time she loved pouring her heart out to children about Jesus. Janice loved gardening, traveling to Gatlinburg and various other destinations over the years, but most of all spending time with her family and friends. She was inspiration to her family in so many ways including her selfless love for her family and others and her unwavering walk with Jesus. The Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday June 24, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home at 6040 Three Notch Rd., Mobile, AL 36619. Burial will follow at the Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday June 27, 2020 at 12:30 pm until the start of service. Pallbearers will be Phillip Gurganus, Taylor Gurganus, William Jarrell, Reede Mendenhall, Kyle Williams, and Billy Loewen. The family would like to express special thanks to the Saad Home Healthcare and Hospice Staff. Also, a special thanks to our wonderful caregivers Tina Thompson and Audie Jones.

A chapel service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, 06/27/2020 from Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, followed by a committal service at the grave site.
