Jay Wallace Hendley passed away peacefully on Monday, August 9, 2021 at the age of 85. Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements. Jay was born in Yantley, AL on January 25, 1936 and was a resident of Mobile, AL. He was preceded in death by his wife of 28 years, Sue B. Hendley, his parents John Albert and Ruby Hendley, and his brothers John A., Billie Joe, and Nelson Hendley.
Jay is survived by his daughter Beverly (Wes) Horn, his brothers Paul and Timothy Hendley, and his sisters Ruby Hendley, Marilyn (Carl) Long and Mitzie (Steve) Bounds.
Jay loved nature and the outdoors and had the opportunity to travel and explore the sites of nearly every state in the U.S. while working for the Pipeliners Union. His sense of humor, kindness and generous nature will be greatly missed by his friends and family.

Visitation and celebration of life will be held Friday, August 13, 2021 at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. and the service beginning at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery
