Jimmie Douglas Odom, Jr. (Doug)

October 6, 1959 – July 23, 2025
Jimmie Douglas Odom, Jr., affectionately known as “Doug,” passed away on July 23, 2025, at the age of 65. Doug was a devoted father, outdoorsman, and friend who found his greatest joy in sharing life’s simple pleasures with the people he loved. Born on October 6, 1959, Doug had a lifelong passion for the outdoors. He especially enjoyed fishing tournaments and loved taking his children hunting and fishing. One of his proudest accomplishments in life was encouraging his sons, Trey and Hunter, to fish together—and seeing them win tournaments as a team brought him immeasurable pride. Doug was known for his big personality and sense of humor. He loved joking around and cutting up with family and friends, creating countless memories filled with laughter. He cherished every moment spent with his children and grandchildren. Whether in a bass boat or with his loyal dog “Rowdy” by his side, Doug felt most at home surrounded by nature. He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Douglas Odom, Sr.; his sister, Victoria Diane Hamilton; and his nephew, Dillon Kade Odom, lovingly known as “Pick.” Doug leaves behind a large and loving family who will forever cherish his memory: his mother, Anne E. Odom; his brothers, Billy Thomas (Kim) Odom, Sr. and Carlos Clyde (Chris) Odom; his children, Jennifer (TJ) Mathis, Shauna Denmark, Trey Odom, Aly (Dylin) White, Hunter Odom, and Hannah Odom; his grandchildren, Riley Denmark, Trevor Green, Haley Denmark, Blaine Mathis, Lacey Mathis, and Riley White; and his great-grandchildren, Maelyn Green, Laekyn Green, Hollyn Green, and Oakley Cadman. He is also lovingly remembered by Amy Vaughn Odom, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Doug’s legacy of laughter, love for the outdoors, and deep devotion to family will live on in all who knew him.
