Jimmy Douglas Odom Sr. entered this world on August 17, 1932 in Enterprise, MS and passed on December 11, 2023. In his 91 years he lived a full life of adventure and accomplishment. In addition to receiving a bachelor's degree and making it to retirement as a lab technician for the Scott Paper Company, he served in the Air Force during the Korean War based in Germany. In his down time he loved to be close to nature, and spent that time hunting, fishing, and gardening. As he was very team oriented and enjoyed staying active, Jimmy was a fan of any and all sports. He was also a member of the Mason George U. Potter Lodge #912. However, the most important adventure to him of all was his loving family.
Jimmy Odom Sr. was preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Irene Odom, his daughter Vicky Hamilton, and his grandson Dillan Odom.
He was survived by his wife of 67 years, Anne Odom, his sisters Birdie Waldrup (and her husband, John) and Jean Prince, and his many children and grandchildren: His sons Doug Odom, Billy Odom, and Carlos Odom and their partners Kim (Billy) and Chris (Carlos); His son-in-law Terry Hamilton; His grandsons Billy Odom Jr. (and his wife Tifany), Dustin Odom, Trey Odom, Hunter Odom, Taylor Odom, Tanner Odom, Caden Odom, and Chris Johnson; His granddaughters Ashley Lowry, Jennifer Mathis, Shauna Odom, Kayla Odom, Aly White, Hannah Odom, Paige Miller, Emily Pace, and Allison Johnson and their partners Shane (Ashley), TJ (Jennifer), Greg (Kayla), Dillon (Aly), Ethan (Paige), and Brett (Emily); and his fifteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Jimmy Odom Sr. will be held Thursday, December 14th, 2023, at 11:00 A.M.; at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Scott pastor of Cypress Shores Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service at the funeral home from 10:00 A.M. to service time. Burial will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
