Joan was born in Montgomery and grew up in Greensboro, Alabama. In 1956, she married the love of her life, Leo Fendley Bedsole, Jr. and they made their home in Mobile where they raised three children. She was a devoted wife and mother.
After her children were older, Joan fulfilled her dream of returning to school to study nursing. She worked at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center for a number of years on 2West before retiring early. Joan was faithful to her Lord and Savior and was a member of Redemption Church.
Mrs. Bedsole is survived and will be missed by daughters, Jan Bailey (Roger), Shirley Hughes (Eric) and son,l Mike Bedsole (Lea Anne), four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and her beloved chihuahua, Honey.
Graveside services will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Saturday, January 11, 2025 beginning at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be offered in Joan's name to Redemption Church, 1251 Industrial Pkwy., Saraland, AL 36571 or Mobile SPCA, 620 Zeigler Circle W., Mobile, AL 36608.
