Joan Cobb Lovett, age 96, born December 4, 1928, passed peacefully on February 8, 2025, in Mobile, Alabama. A resident of Mobile and member of Azalea Baptist Church, Mrs. Lovett was known for her love of beagles, hot air balloons, music, sports, reading, and her generous philanthropy. She has been reunited with her parents, Reuben F. Cobb and Belle S. "Mama Cobb"; her siblings, Roy E. Cobb, Earl P. Cobb, Mary C. Smith, Cecil G. "Matt" Cobb, and Margaret C. Patrick; and her beloved husband, Crate M. Lovett. Mrs. Lovett is survived by her brother, William H. Cobb of Birmingham, and numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, February 14 at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, with visitation at 11:00 a.m. and service at noon. Interment will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Azalea Baptist Church, Alabama Baptist Children's Home (Mobile Campus), or Ronald McDonald House (Mobile Campus).
