Mr. John Blake Batchelor Sr., a native and lifelong resident of Mobile , AL, died peacefully in his home on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at the age of 81. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rebecca “Becky” Fuentes Batchelor; three sons, John “Johnny” Blake (Dena) Batchelor Jr., James “Jimmy” Blair (Peggy) Batchelor, Jerald “Jerry” Blaine Batchelor; one daughter, Connie Lorraine Batchelor; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. He served his country in the United States Air Force 6902nd Spec. Comm. GP, and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and the Air Force Longevity Service Award. While stationed in San Antonio, TX, he met the love of his life, Rebecca, and they married on November 19, 1960. The family would like to give a special thanks to Miss Linda Law for her love and devotion in the care of our father during the months preceding his death and to Kim Taite and the entire staff of Southern Care Hospice for their loving care and support during the days preceding his death. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at 12:00 Noon from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM until service time. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
