Mr. Richard Ervin Dillard, age 72, native of Mobile, AL, passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2018. Mr. Dillard is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lee Vaughn, parents, Albert and Thelma Wall Dillard and sister, Shelby Jean Propst. Mr. Dillard served his country honorably in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era. He retired after 13 years as the Chief of Circulation Technology with Providence Hospital, 27 years with Mobile Infirmary and 10 years at USA Medical Center. He was a longtime member of Myers Memorial Baptist Church and was a graduate of Vigor High School Class of ‘64. He was an avid enthusiast and collector of classic cars, fan of Auburn University football and had a lifetime love of music. Mr. Dillard is survived by his loving wife, Jeri Fore Dillard and children; Michael Dillard (Angela), Pete Dillard (Stacey), Rebecca Turner (Mark) and Katrina Davison (Todd). He is also survived by his grandchildren; Josh Davison, Brandi Alexander, Jordan Dillard, Megan Dillard, Brooke Watts, Alexandria Dillard, Presli Turner, Tyler Gill and Taylor Gill great-grandchildren; Taylor, Maggie, Jaeden, Carter, Violet and Ella. Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home, 3155 Dauphin Street, Mobile, AL on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Mac Sharrit, Robert Fore, Don Moore, Josh Davison, Jordan Dillard and Jereme Watts. Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Baxter, Robert Sealy and Vigor Class of ’64. A chapel service for Richard Dillard will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, 12/18/2018 from Radney's Funeral Home on Dauphin Street, followed by a committal service at the grave site.
