Judith Grissett Nichols, age 77, passed away on August 22, 2024, in Mobile, AL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ashley and Doris Grissett and siblings, Juanita Griffith, William Grissett, and Clara Tew. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 36 years, Richard W. Nichols; children, Shannon Vickery (Tony), and Grant Nichols (Tara); grandchildren, Mariah Franklin (Kevin), Garrett Vickery, and William Nichols; great-grandchildren, Ryan and Aurora; sister, Joyce Gentry (Bill); many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Judy was born in Wallace, AL, and after moving with her family to Mobile, she graduated from Murphy High School and obtained a Bachelor degree from the University of Montevallo. Judy began her career teaching elementary school in Bessemer. Upon relocating to Delaware she obtained a position with the Federal Civil Service as a secretary. After obtaining her Master’s degree she would continue to work in the Federal Service as an Accountant before retiring with 33 years of dedicated service. Judy was a longtime member of Providence Presbyterian Church. She loved her church, her family, spending time taking long walks, reading, crossword puzzles and singing gospel music. She will be deeply missed by all of those blessed to know her and have her in their life. Services will be Thursday, August 29, 2024, with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the 12:00 p.m. service time.Phone: 251-661-1333
