Jessie Katherine Goggans Ellis, 84, formerly of Hackleburg, Alabama, died August 22, 2020, in her home surrounded by family. Katherine was born on July 4, 1936, in Dorsey, Mississippi. Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gaither Blake Goggans and Jessie Mozel Loden Goggans.
Devoted Christian and member of Orchard Baptist Church for 47 years. Katherine served faithfully in many ministries including: food pantry, clothing closet, and other committees. She enjoyed cooking and baking and used her talents to help others and serve her community. She loved her family and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband Hugh S. Ellis, three children including: Bob Ellis of Mobile, AL, Swanee Terry (William) of Mobile, AL, and DeAnna Bell (Gary) of Hurley, MS; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Family visitation will be from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow at 10:00 am at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery for friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hospice Promise Foundation.
