Mr. Larry Dale Ward, age 75, native of Mobile, AL, passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 in Pensacola, FL. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hilbert and Willie Mae Marrs Ward and brothers, Bobby and James Ward.
Mr. Ward retired at the age of 50 from Local 55 after 31 years of service. He worked part time for many years with his brother at Ward’s Army and Navy Store and after his retirement from the Local, he continued to work in the store for over 15 years.
Larry will be remembered by his family and friends for his charisma, love of people and kindness. He never met a stranger and would always make you feel welcomed and important. His greatest love was his family. He enjoyed time spent with his loving wife of 41 years, children and his “precious” grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He attended St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Chickasaw for many years.
Mr. Ward is survived by his wife Deborah, affectionately known as “Honey Bun”; children, Robert Ward (Laura), William “Billy” Ward, Jonica Woody-Ward and Haley Jockisch (Charles). He is also survived by his sister, Charlotte Samala, grandchildren; Natalie and Anslie Albritton, Braxton Jockisch, Evelyn Adair Ward, Landon Jockisch, Evan Ward, Eleanor Lillie Ward, Annabelle Jockisch, two great-granddaughters, Elizabeth Claire and Gracie Mae, many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home-Mobile, on Monday, March 22, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Braxton Jockisch, Charles Jockisch, Matt Garrett, Jason Wells, James Ward, Jr. and Michael Samala. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Rowell, Gene Speese, Landon Jockisch, Evan Ward, George Stewart, Glen Dixon, Bobby Gechijian, Mark Samala, Paul Samala, and Jerry Hall.

A chapel service will be held at 2pm on Monday, 03/22/21 at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home followed by a commital service at the grave site.
